If you quit your job you just can't have it back in two months. If he lost and wanted another shot it's one thing, but he resigned.

They're havin' a laugh!

At least when the UK gets fucked over so rapidly their politicians have the common decency to quit, unlike in the rest of the world where the leaders drag the country down with them to the bitter end.

British humor is one of the things that keeps my soul alive. Satire helps a little bit to face the harsh realities out there.

I hope all of this makes a big change in the UK. But all the MPs who picked Truss are still around (until the next election, right?). I'm not an expert on the details of UK politics, it seems like everything is still in place for the Tories to pick a new PM and continue forth.

Here in the colonies, it doesn't matter much if a leader suffers a fall from grace. Even when they resign or aren't reelected, the entire political apparatus (i.e. lobbyists and money) remains to lobby citizens.

Yea I think they can just choose a new PM, which will more than likely be Johnson again

I'm unaware if there's any old statute which states if the population find that the political party are unfit to govern whether it'll trigger another general election. If Boris Johnson is elected leader maybe a public revolt will happen but I highly doubt it. I'd imagine in general most people are just pissed off of all the Tories shenanigans and want them out but the next elections not til 2025 !

So he's going to be a bigger failure than Truss with that glowing endorsement.
