If anybody can share it around on their Facebook or Twitter that would be cool.

If I can't paypal it, can I just paypal it to you directly?
I don't think personal gofundme campaigns can accept paypal, only charity ones.

You can paypal it to me.

Thanks a lot Skynet. Grendel says thank you too!
Sent! It's not much, but I hope it helps.

As someone who spent almost $10,000 on his German Shepherd who then had to be put down because he got so bad, it can be extremely tough getting money together. I hope you're able to hit your goal, and some, so you can get the surgery sorted. Good luck!

Thanks again Skynet. It will help a lot. :osmile:

It has been tough getting the money for this one, plus me having to get surgery again didn't really help. Even if we end up getting to $500 that will help a fair bit and it's going OK so far.

I paypal'd a few bucks Zoidypoo, and shared the link to the gofundme on OCAU. (that's literally the only site I go to other than here)

Good luck Grendel!

Tried it last night, no response. They might have been a little busy with something else though.

I've deleted the tweet because it felt a bit weird just leaving it there. It felt a bit weird tweeting it.

It was still a good suggestion though. "thumbsup

You're welcome Zoidy, they must have been super busy yesterday so that is likely why they didn't get back to you. It might be worthwhile to give it another try but their schedule is probably hectic right now.

If you're a fan of any celebs etc who are animal lovers it's another long shot but try tweeting them too. I mean some have a social media team/reps run their social media so it's not them directly. But with like wrestling it's usually the talent themselves who do. Maybe someone like that who respond to fans etc. I understand it might feel weird but there's no harm in trying and it's on a legitimate fundraising site.

Are there any charitable organisations who might be able to be of assstance, especially if Grendel is an emotional support/therapy dog?. I'm sure an anxiety/depression charity could help out or at least retweet the link. As an alternative can you ask the veterinary practice if they have a payment plan which you can spread out over so many months/years to help pay for the surgery?. If you explain the situation I'm sure they'd help out in some way. There's this website but it seems to be US based but similar organisations/charities might exist in Australia too hopefully

Hope this all helps you out in some way :)

I forgot to mention you could always create a new Twitter etc just for the Gofundme. Maybe with a profile pic of Grendel and saying that you're hoping to raise funds for his operation in the profile description that would be beneficial if you try tweeting to celebs etc. That way they'll know its for a very good cause. I'm sure there are organisations who train animals especially for being emotional support/therapy animals and will recognise the positive impact that Grendel is having and that in turn they'll help out if they can. Again hope this helps out and I do think a more specialised twitter/Facebook will get more interest and when say you do tweet a message and they see the profile that you're raising funds then its more likely to get a response that way.

Grendel had his surgery today. The surgeon said his knee was in the worst shape of any dog he's seen in 20 years as a surgeon. He cleaned up all the bad cartilage and there's still a bit of good cartilage left. He will barely be able to walk for the next 2 months but after that he should be back to normal. If the knee craps out again it will mean all of the cartilage is gone so it will bone on bone which means guaranteed arthritis.

The good news is that his cruciate ligament is still in good shape and everything from the previous surgery is fine.

Thanks Skynet.

He's doing alright and spent most of the day sleeping. And the doctor said he should only need to stay in the crate for 4 weeks although it could be up to 8.
