Re: NFL Thread
Not bad, but I still like the 80s-90s version better

Re: NFL Thread
I think he'll enjoy retirement a whole lot more with a functional skeleton, good for him

Re: NFL Thread
He is kind of like the modern Drew Bledsoe. He had a solid career before being benched for a future superstar. He also had a catastrophic injury that almost killed him (Smith getting the blood infection and Bledsoe rupturing that blood vessel in his chest after a sack.)

Huh, I guess I never thought about it that way. Should be fun right?

Re: NFL Thread
That's scary as hell that it can just pop up later in life. He says he was perfectly fine until last year.

Re: NFL Thread
TBF Kipper certainly won this one since Alberts only played a few years and Dilfer won a Super Bowl ring.

That would never happen. Baltimore would riot.

Re: NFL Thread
That's definitely a peak pre-draft hot take It'd be the pure chaos move, but it is the team that won a Super Bowl with future HOF ceremony waiter Trent Dilfer.
I've read that there aren't a whole lot of WRs on the board, so this seems likely

Re: NFL Thread
I don't remember the 2011 draft when they picked Ponder, but I definitely remember 2014 while watching it at a bar. Minnesota traded back to the ninth essentially for free and picked Anthony Barr. I'll never forget seeing the alert pop up that the Vikings traded back into the first round and got Teddy with the 32nd pick. I was pumped (and drunk).
My parents couldn't use their tickets for week 4's game against the Falcons, so my friend and I got to see Teddy's first start. They won and people were chanting "TEDDY! TEDDY!" in all of the concourses when we walked out. A cool fucking moment after the McNabb/Ponder/Cassel/Freeman/Webb fuckfest that was 2011-2014. The rest of that season sucked, but 2015 was awesome until that stupid fucking field goal against the Seahawks.
I also remember when Teddy's knees disintegrated during training camp, that was a dark day for me. I worked for the local TV station, so I had to update our website with the news. I was so sad/pissed off that I refused to talk to anyone about it and went home early to sulk. It still upsets me, Teddy's such a cool guy and half-way decent quarterback and he was the first ray of hope after some of the worst years of Minnesota sports.
