Wow. I still can't fathom how Vince McMahon decided to go on with the show after Owen died so tragically. Wasn't the excuse the fans were going to riot or something? and he made the boys still cut promos and wrestle. RIP Owen

Vince deserves blame for what happened, but I think most people give him a pass on continuing the show. As in he shouldn't have done it but was in shock so a bad decision is understandable. Bret said in recent interviews he sat down with Vince when he came back in 2010 and had a long conversation about it and said he forgives Vince because he realized he went through a traumatic time as the family did.

That said, it was a dumb stunt and if you listen to the new Post documentary on Owen WWE were 100% responsible for negligence that killed a man. And like Cornette said you should only take a risk if people will remember it. And if the stunt went right and Owen lived none of us would remember a silly Godfather match in 2019. So it just never should have happened.
